Recreational Season Duration:

The Spring 2010 recreational season is 10 weeks long. It may go longer for rain-out weekends if the fields are closed on a scheduled weekend of play.

The first weekend of recreational play is February 13th and the last weekend of play will be April 24, 2010 (dependent on rain-outs).

Practices & Games:

U4 Soccer Starters practice once a week on Fridays at Slaughter Creek for 8 weeks. SPRING 2010 SCHEDULE (also see schedule below): 2/26, 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 3/26, 4/9, 4/16, 4/23.  All sessions are at Slaughter Creek Park #5 from 5-6pm.
U5/U6 teams are allowed to practice once a week, but at this age, may elect not to hold practice at all and just play their games on Saturdays. Practice time, day and location to be determined by your coach.

U7/U8 teams may practice once or twice a week again, depending on the coach. They will play their games on Saturdays. Practice times, days and locations to be determined by your coach.

U9 & Older teams will likely practice twice a week and play their games on Saturdays. Practice times, days and locations to be determined by your coach.

Practice days and times will be set by your coach once he or she receives the team roster and it is set for the season, this is usually around the beginning of September.

Games are on Saturdays. There is always the possibility of make up games if a weekend of play gets rained out. These make up games could be during the week or on a Sunday if it works out for everyone. Your coach will be responsible for arranging and confirming reschedules.

MISSION

To organize and promote soccer, educate and encourage our volunteer coaches, instill good sportsmanship, fair play and a playing environment that provides enjoyment among all participants and to offer a variety of soccer instructional programs conducive for all ages to develop under the approval of the United State Soccer Federation.

The AUCSC D IV (U5-U10) and D III (U11-U18) recreational programs are for boys and girls, ages 4-18 who want to have fun learning soccer fundamentals and playing the game of soccer, no matter their initial skill level. Games will be on Saturdays and practices once or twice a week with teams coached by parent volunteers. This program is designed to be a fun and enjoyable experience.

COACHING PROGRAMS

The volunteer coach is one of the most integral parts of the AUC soccer organization and we value their dedication and commitment to ensuring that our kids are safe and having fun.

Beginning in the spring of 2008, volunteer coaches are required to attend a licensing/coaching course. This requirement assures that our coaches are prepared to properly teach the fundamentals of soccer.

This requirement is part of the AUCSC, CAYSA and STYSA bylaws and is in place to assure the safety of our children, to assure the proper teaching of soccer, and to provide our children with a positive soccer experience every year they play.

AUCSC will pay for the appropriate age group licensing of our volunteer coaches. Several dates will be available for coach licensing and training through AUCSC, CAYSA and NSCAA. Age group commissioners will have all of the information necessary for their coaches.

It is our sincere desire to work diligently with our volunteer coaches to educate, encourage and evaluate their progress throughout the season. Clinics and tips of the week will provide additional resources for our volunteer coaches during the up-coming season.

If you would like to be a volunteer coach, here is the procedure:

1. On your registrations for your kids, there is a volunteer section that must be completed. Please check the Coach box.

2. The Age Group Commissioners manage the process of coaching assignments.  Be sure to contact your Commissioner (contact info is on Board page of website) to confirm your interest.

3. Attend the pre-season coach meetings in mid-August (see calendar below).

4. Attend a coaching clinic prior to the season. Look for emails and on the website for details on local events.  If you do not have a coaching license, certification courses are also held throughout the summer and throughout Central TX and the state. Go to www.stxsoccer.org , our state association, and go to the Coaching Courses page. You will see a calendar to choose the proper courses.

Coaches CODE OF CONDUCT

As a volunteer coach for AUCSC, we ask that you adhere to certain guidelines. These are set to provide consistent expectations for all coaches throughout the club. As part of the registration process, you will be asked to agree to our coaches code of conduct.   In doing so, you agree to abide by our club policy regarding coach conduct. SEE COACH'S CREED ON THE PLAYER DEVELOPMENT TAB ON WEBSITE.

PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT

In joining the AU Capital Soccer Club, we do ask that parents and players adhere to certain guidelines. We set the guidelines in order for the players to receive the maximum benefit from the recreational and club soccer experience.

As part of the registration process you will be asked to agree to our parent code of conduct. In doing so, you agree to abide by our club policy governing parental conduct and behavior. SEE PARENT COMMITMENT ON THE PLAYER DEVELOPMENT TAB ON WEBSITE.
